March hats

Have got the bug for fair isle!  Just completed another tam, it is a pity I  don't wear them.

Last week I  made a  number of dribble bibs for my great neice and nephew and a friend's  new grandchild, they have been very successful with other parents so I  hope they like them.  Also made a lot of small bags for the stall and need to have another sewing day this week.

February 22nd

Well,  what have I created this month? I am not sure I  have completed anything except a small embroidery but that isn't framed.  I have almost finished  a knitted cardigan for myself just have the bands and the collar to add. I  have started  knitting Paddington bear from an old Alan Dart pattern but it is taking forever and the mitred throw that I bought the wool for last  month is about a third done . Just remembered,  I did finish the fair isle cushion cover, will attach a photo when I have a cushion pad for it.
And the workroom, well I have moved 10 boxes of books , magazines  and  oddments to the garage but have hardly made an impact,  only a mess,  other things, like a cold and hospital visiting seem to have got in the way so who knows it might be finished next month!
I now have to think about making new items for this year's  craft stall, ente has the time gone?

January 18th

Well I had good intentions to start the New Year with lots of projects for myself but have gone off at a bit of a tangent.  I knitted a dozen headbands for Lynne's stall using up the small amounts of pampas yarn left over from the neck warmers I knitted before Christmas. Then I helped out a colleague of my sister by knitting some premature baby cardigans, I do hope they fit as they are only just big enough to fit a doll. Last week I went with a friend to the sale at Fabric Freedom in Bradford so now have yards and yards of fabric to make into quilts, bags, cushions and kits, a big task!
My knitting projects include a fair Isle cushion cover,  a cable cardigan, hats for a sailor's charity,  another baby cardigan and i bought the yarn on Friday to make a throw.  Perhaps if i get snowed in I  will have a chance of completing something this month!
And my New  Year resolution?  To clear out the workroom,  a mammoth task!

2015

Well Christmas is now over and friends and family have opened their presents,  or at least I assume they have as I have not heard from all the family as yet, so I can share some of the photos of gifts that I made.
The biggest  task was the knitted socks for a lot of friends, I made 9 pairs so had to start back in the summer to make sure  that they were all finished on time. The 2 new members of the family each acquired a hand knitted Peter Rabbit which again  had to be started in the summer and for lady friends and family I made bath bombs and melts. I was asked to make the little mouse for my friend Gill's granddaughter to complete the family group that I made a couple off years ago.

Happy New Year to all my readers.

December

A busy time of year as I have been making presents as well as items for friends, see the photos of the "Frozen"  cushion covers. These were made by taking the images into Craft artist software,  adding a background and embellishments before printing on fabric and then stitching on the background fabric.
I have also just finished some baubles for the Embroidery Guild's Christmas tree . I made them by up cycling some embroidered furnishing fabric onto a polystyrene ball.
